RICHARDSON, TX (05.14.22) - A day after collecting just its second-ever win in the NCAA D-III National Championship, the No. 29-ranked UT Dallas women's tennis team had its 2022 season come to a close with a 5-0 loss to No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer in the second round of the event Saturday afternoon.

The Comets wrapped up the campaign with a 12-3 overall record, winning the ASC title for the third straight season and fourth time in program history. UTD's

Suzuka Nishino will continue their seasons, however, by competing in the NCAA D-III National Singles Championships, May 27-29, in Orlando, Fla.
The top-seeded Sagehens (20-2) opened the duel with a 3-0 mark in the doubles play, but the Comets did not make it easy for the No. 2-ranked team in the nation. Pomona-Pitzer opened the match with an 8-4 win at No. 1 and took a 2-0 lead with an 8-5 win at No. 2. UTD's No. 3 doubles squad of Nishino and
Megan Zeng put up a valiant effort to try to avoid the sweep before falling, 8-6.
