BELTON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team hit .625 with no errors in the fifth set to defeat Mary Hardin-Baylor at 20-25, 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 15-5 at the Mayborn Campus Center Saturday.
The host Cru (9-3, 2-2) took the first set easily but the Comets (5-4, 2-1) rebounded to take sets two and three with little trouble in the battle of the last eight American Southwest Conference Championship finalists. After UMHB won the fourth set, UTD jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the deciding frame. Senior outside hitter
Abby Jones recorded six of the 10 kills for the Comets in the final set.
For the match, UTD hit .205 with 67 kills, seven aces, nine blocks and 105 digs. UMHB, who received votes in this week's AVCA Top 25 Poll, hit .161 with 55 kills, three aces, seven blocks and 116 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Jones led all players with a career-high 21 kills and came up with 23 digs.

- Kaylie Vasil led the Cru with 16 kills and had 18 digs.
- Hannah Frasca also had a double-double with 15 kills and 19 digs.
