SAN ANTONIO, Texas - UT Dallas senior Suzuka Nishino will try to repeat as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regional champion as she qualified for Sunday's finals with a pair of wins on day three.

The All-American from Coppell, Texas won her quarterfinal match 6-2, 6-0 over sixth-seed Taylor Despriet of Southwestern (Texas). Nishino followed with a 6-3, 6-4 semifinal win over Ruth Hill of Trinity (Texas). The finals are set for Sunday at 9 a.m. against #9 Trinity Levy from TU.

In other results, Comet sophomores Tisha Nakakes-Nguyen and Megan Zeng battled in the consolation quarterfinals, with the former coming out on top in a third-set tiebreaker 3-6, 6-1, 11-9. Nakakes-Nguyen was eliminated in three sets to Addy Seward of East Texas Baptist in the semifinals.

Graduate student Kriti Parikh played in the Flight B semifinals Saturday morning and lost to Ealla Mullins of St. Thomas (Texas) 6-1, 6-1.

The Comets' last remaining doubles team of Rebecca Jackson and Saumya Vedula were eliminated 8-3 by #4 Cate Cushing and Levy of Trinity in the quarterfinals.
