ALPINE, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team took to the road for its American Southwest Conference opener and defeated Sul Ross State 3-1 at Lobo Soccer Field Thursday afternoon.
The Lobos (3-3, 0-1 ASC) picked up a goal from Aylin Pereyra just 3:32 into the game to go up early. Sophomore defender 
Faith Autery tied the game for the Comets (4-3, 1-0 ASC) on an assist from 
Skyler Rodrigue. 
In the second half, junior forward 
Bella Granada netted the fourth career game-winner of her career, scoring in the 72nd minute. Freshman forward 
Lily Tanko added the final goal with 49 seconds remaining.
For the game, UTD led 13-9 in shots and 9-8 in shots on goal. Both teams took three corner kicks and the Comets had more fouls, 8-3.
UT Dallas Notes
- The goals by Autery and Tanko were the first in each of their careers.
- Granada recorded her fourth goal of the year and 12th of her career.
- Rodrigue also had her first career assist.
