BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball defeated Howard Payne for the second time this season, picking up a 70-48 victory at Brownwood Coliseum Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference competition.
The Lady Jackets (2-16, 0-11 ASC) led 12-11 after the first quarter, but the Comets (12-6, 8-3 ASC) made the first basket in the second and would lead the rest of the game. UTD led by as many as 25 in the fourth quarter.
For the game, the Comets shot 38.2 percent (29-for-76) from the field, 3-for-15 from three-point range and 9-of-15 at the charity stripe. They also recorded 51 rebounds, 10 assists, one block, a season-best 16 steals and 19 turnovers.
HPU shot 30.2 percent (16-for-53) overall, 6-for-18 from outside and 10-for-17 from the line with 39 boards, seven assists, two blocks, 11 steals and 28 turnovers.

- The Comet bench was responsible for 52 of the 70 points.

Amanda Crowninshield came off the bench to score 17 points on 8-of-19 shooting to go with three steals.Â
