Comets and Tigers Tie Again

MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team tied with East Texas Baptist 1-1 at Cornish Field in American Southwest Conference play Thursday night.

The Comets (8-0-6, 1-0-4 ASC) and Tigers (5-2-5, 2-2-2 ASC) battled to a scoreless draw in non-conference action earlier in the season.

After a scoreless first half, senior forward Kate Crowe found the goal in the 67th minute for UTD. Fellow senior Sierra Foster blasted the ball downfield and found Crowe, who found herself one-on-one with the ETBU keeper. 

The Tigers tied the game with 5:36 remaining on goal from Olivia Gallegos. 

ETBU outshot the UTD 15-5 overall and 9-3 on goal. The Tigers also led 4-1 in corner kicks and 7-4 in fouls. 

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets remain unbeaten in 14 games this season, tying the 2018 (12-0-2) squad for longest unbeaten streak in program history. 
- Crowe's goal was her team-leading seventh of the year.
- Foster leads UTD with six assists this season.
- Bella Granada and Ashlynn Thomas each took a shot on goal.
- Jade Press had eight saves in goal.
- Peyton Guidry, Jenna Wilkinson and Rylyn Reyes played all 90 minutes on the back line.
- The Comets tied the 2009 team for most ties with six in a season. 

East Texas Baptist Notes
- Rose Comstive and Sarah Ramos assisted the Tiger goal. 
- Ramos and Gallegos each took two shots on goal.
- Giselle Laredo had four shots, one on goal.
- Laredo, Makayla Baxter, Aylisse Warren and Mary Duncan each played 90 minutes.
- Addison Funk stopped two shots.

UTD will play at LeTourneau in Longview, Texas at 5 p.m. Saturday in another ASC contest.
