Comets and YellowJackets Battle to 1-1 Draw

LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team scored late to tie LeTourneau 1-1 in American Southwest Conference action at LETU Soccer Field Saturday night.

With the tie, the Comets (7-5-3, 3-2-1 ASC) sit in fourth place in the league with two games remaining in the regular season. The top six teams make the ASC Championship Tournament and UTD has secured its spot in the bracket.

After a scoreless first half, Emad Mohmad gave the YellowJackets (5-5-5, 1-2-4 ASC) a 1-0 lead by converting a penalty kick. 

After a LeTourneau red card in the 78th minute, the Comets took advantage, scoring 20 seconds later. Junior Cole Morgan passed from the outside the right side of the box and found freshman Julio De Los Reyes who headed it in and tied the game.

UTD outshout LETU 20-7 overall and 8-1 on goal. The Comets led 7-2 in corner kicks while the YellowJackets committed more fouls, 17-11.

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets are now 28-4-2 all-time against the YellowJackets.
- De Los Reyes' goal was the first in the freshman's career.
- Morgan recorded his third assist of the year and fourth of his career.
- Luke Harris took three shots, four on goal.
- Kawan Borba, Kane Kidwell, Alan Beaney and Morgan each had a shot on goal.
- Defenders Kayson Marriott, Josh Zemanski, Cayden Casburn and De Los Reyes played all 90 minutes.

LeTourneau Notes
- Mohamed had three shots, one on goal.
- Raul Torrez, Beau Weber, Juan Angel Morales and Nate Bransfored also took a shot each.
- Torrez posted seven saves in goal.
- Weber, Morales and Bridger Roberdeau played 90 minutes.
