RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2023 season, falling to Hardin-Simmons 7-0 in American Southwest Conference action at the UTD Soccer Field Thursday night.
With one game left in the regular season, the Comets (9-1-6, 2-1-4 ASC) sit in third place in the conference standings with 10 points. They have secured a spot in next week's ASC Championship Tournament and will battle for a right to host a Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, October 31.
After a scoreless first half, the Cowgirls (13-1-2, 6-1-1 ASC) got on the board just 1:18 into the second period on a goal from Lexi Templin. HSU managed three more goals over the next 7:19 and tacked another three later in the game.
HSU outshot UTD 22-3 overall 16-1 on goal.The Cowgirls led in corner kicks 4-0 and committed more fouls, 4-3.
