RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team erupted for a 5-1 victory over McMurry in American Southwest Conference at UTD Soccer Field Saturday night.
With the win, the Comets (8-6-3, 4-3-1 ASC) secured the fourth seed in the ASC Championship Tournament and will host a Quarterfinal match Tuesday, October 31.
UTD led 1-0 at halftime after senior
Luke Deats scored on assists from
Cole Morgan and
Cayden Casburn in the 37th minute.
Kane Kidwell made the game 2-0 in the 53rd minute before Morgan, Deats, then Morgan again found the net over a matter of 3:05 to go up 5-0 in the 77th.Â
The War Hawks (2-9-5, 1-5-2 ASC) scored their lone goal off the foot of Danny Chavez in the 84th minute.
UTD outshout McMurry 22-10 overall and 13-3 on goal. The Comets led in corner kicks 2-0 with the War Hawks committing more fouls (17-10).Â
