RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team erupted for a 5-1 victory over McMurry in American Southwest Conference at UTD Soccer Field Saturday night.

With the win, the Comets (8-6-3, 4-3-1 ASC) secured the fourth seed in the ASC Championship Tournament and will host a Quarterfinal match Tuesday, October 31.

UTD led 1-0 at halftime after senior Luke Deats scored on assists from Cole Morgan and Cayden Casburn in the 37th minute. Kane Kidwell made the game 2-0 in the 53rd minute before Morgan, Deats, then Morgan again found the net over a matter of 3:05 to go up 5-0 in the 77th. 

The War Hawks (2-9-5, 1-5-2 ASC) scored their lone goal off the foot of Danny Chavez in the 84th minute.

UTD outshout McMurry 22-10 overall and 13-3 on goal. The Comets led in corner kicks 2-0 with the War Hawks committing more fouls (17-10). 

Before the game, UTD honored its nine seniors - Vaughn Morgan, Kayson Marriott, Gavin Smith, Alan Beaney, Joe Ruedi, Kane Kidwell, Benny Lube, Leo Castro and Deats.

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improve to 18-2-1 all-time versus the War Hawks.
- 25 different Comets played in the game.
- Cole Morgan led the offensive attack with a pair of goals and an assist, moving his total to 14 points on the year.
- Deats scored twice, giving him four for the season.
- Kidwell's goal was his third of the season.
- Casburn and Josh Zemanski each recorded their second assist of the season.
- Zach Pena made his debut for UTD to become the 379th student-athlete to play for men's soccer program.

- Johnny Rocha and Armando Saldana each took a shot on goal.
- Griffin Cardwell had seven saves in 75 minutes.
- Myles DeBondt played all 90 minutes.
