ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team defeated McMurry 90-75 in American Southwest Conference play at Kimbrell Arena on Saturday. The win is the Comets' (6-2, 2-0 ASC) fifth in a row.
The game remained close throughout the first half before UTD took a 42-36 lead into halftime. The War Hawks (4-5, 0-4 ASC) trailed the entire second half but only had a deficit of 60-55 with 11:46 remaining. The Comets rattled off a 20-8 run over the next five minutes to take control of the game 80-63 with 5:51 left. UTD led by as many as 18.
The Comets shot 49.3 percent (33-for-47) from the field, 4-for-22 from outside and 20-of-27 at the free throw line. They also recorded 51 rebounds, eight assists, 18 turnovers, two blocks and eight steals.
The War Hawks shot 35.5 percent (27-for-76) overall, 6-of-30 from three-point range and 15-of-22 at the stripe with 27 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers, six blocks and eight steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets' 51 rebounds was a season-high. They have outrebounded their opponent in all eight games.
- Freshman forward
Jordan Balderaz posted his second double-double of the year with 19 points and 14 rebounds. He was 7-for-11 from the field and had seven offensive boards.
- Senior guard
Donovan Souter scored in double-digits for the seventh consecutive game, netting 15 points while hitting a trio of three-pointers.
- Forward
Rob Wade came off the bench for 13 points and seven rebounds.
- Junior guard
Nick Donnelly added 10 points and five rebounds.
- Freshman
Matthew Soto went 4-fo-4 from the field for 10 points to go with a block and a pair of steals.

AJ Carter added a three boards, a block and a steal in seven minutes.

- Elias Garcia led the War Hawks with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting. He also had four rebounds and two steals.

- Tristan Holden had 13 points, four rebounds and four blocks.
