AUSTIN - The UT Dallas women's basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak, defeating Concordia Texas 61-54 at the Concordia Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Comets (14-9, 10-6 ASC) move into fourth place in the American Southwest Conference standings with two games remaining on the schedule. They could finish in third, fourth or fifth place. The third and fourth seeds will host a quarterfinal of the ASC Championship Tournament on Tuesday, February 21 while the fifth seed will travel for the opening round.
UTD led 17-13 after the first quarter and 33-32 over the Tornados (10-12, 7-9 ASC) at halftime. The teams were tied at 46-46 at the end of the third period. The Comets outscored the home team 15-8 in the fourth.
UTD shot 35.6 percent (21-for-59) from the field, 3-for-14 from outside and 16-for-22 at the line. They also had 43 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks, three steals and 11 turnovers.
Concordia shot 35.2 percent (19-for-54) overall, 6-for-22 from three-point territory and 10-for-14 at the free throw line with 34 boards, 12 assists, eight blocks, five steals and 11 turnovers.

Diane Hurst tied her career high with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.Â

Blythe Williams had seven rebounds and two blocks.

- Guard Havyn Perez led the Tornados with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out four assists.
- Alena Johnston hit a trio of three pointers for nine points.
- Chelsea Cogborn had eight points, six rebounds and five blocks.
- Madi Maxwell also scored eight points.
