RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team lost to #8/11 Hardin-Simmons 67-48 at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls (19-2,14-0) remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference play, while the Comets (13-7, 9-4) fell from second to fourth place. With five games left in the regular season, the, UTD sits half a game behind East Texas Baptist and Mary Hardin-Baylor who are tied for second with a 10-4 record.
HSU led 16-11 after the first quarter and 36-19 at the break. The Comets cut the deficit to nine points in the third quarter and trailed 47-36 at the end of the third. The Cowgirls pulled away in the fourth for the 19-point win.
UT Dallas shot 27.8 percent (20-for-72) overall, went 0-for-13 from three-point range and was 8-for-12 at the free throw line. They also had 48 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, four steals and 17 turnovers.
Hardin-Simmons shot 40.7 percent (24-for-59) overall, 7-for-18 from outside and 12-for-13 at the stripe with 41 rebounds, 19 assists, four blocks, 11 steals and 15 turnovers.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman center
Kyra Samuels tied her season-best with 11 points and pulled down a season-high seven rebounds. She also blocked a pair of shots.
- Junior guard
Kaylee Boykin had 10 points and a career-best eight rebounds.
- Sophomore
Trystan Clark added eight points.
- Senior guard
Jordan Maxwell grabbed a career-high eight boards.Â

- Forward Parris Parmer led the Cowgirls with 23 points, four assists and three steals while going 6-for-7 from outside.
- Natasha Blizzard recorded 16 points and nine rebounds.
