RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team outrebounded McMurry 49-18 in Monday's 105-79 American Southwest Conference game at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets (18-3, 13-1 ASC), who continue to lead the league standings, jumped out to a 19-7 advantage over the the first 5:19 of the game and led 53-40 at halftime. They kept up the momentum in the second half, outscoring the War Hawks (6-15, 5-9 ASC) 52-39 in the period.
For the game, UTD shot 54 percent (34-for-63) overall, 13-for-28 from outside and 24-of-29 at the line with 49 rebounds, 26 assists, one block, seven assists and 23 turnovers.
McMurry shot 46 percent (29-for-63) from the field, 4-for-24 from three-point range and 17-of-24 at the free throw line with 18 rebounds, 17 assists, two blocks, 11 steals and 15 turnovers.

Kyle Poerschke posted his first double-double as a Comet, coming up with 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Hunter Stevens posted 14 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and a pair of steals.

James Curtis had 12 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard
