RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team battled against St. Mary's (Texas) in a 6-1 loss at UTD Tennis Courts Sunday afternoon.
The Comets (6-3), who are ranked number 24 in Division III, managed to win one of the three doubles matches against the Rattlers (8-2), the 14th-ranked team in Division II. Sophomores
Elyssa Ducret and
Megan Zeng defeated Angela Vargas and Elena Munoz 6-4 at number two. St. Mary's took one and three to earn the doubles points.Â
UTD junior
Rebecca Jackson won at number three singles for the lone point. She defeated Kyndall Quiroz 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 in the tiebreaker to improve to 7-2 on the season.
Zeng took Munoz to a third-set tiebreaker at number five before falling 6-4, 5-7, 10-5.
The Comets will host Ozarks in conference play on Friday, March 10 at 2 p.m. in Richardson.
