SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The #37 UT Dallas women's tennis team lost to #14 Trinity (Texas) 8-1 at the Butch Newman Tennis Center Sunday afternoon.
The host Tigers (11-4) took two of the three doubles matches, but not without a fight from the Comets (8-6). UTD's
Suzuka Nishino and
Tisha Nakakes-Nguyen defeated Brooke Belitz and Ellie Hughes 8-6 at number three. Number one doubles came down to an epic tiebreaker, where #25 Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim edged juniors
Saumya Vedula and
Rebecca Jackson 8-7 (16-14).Â
In the top singles match, Hill defeated Nishino 6-1, 5-7, 10-7.Â
Elyssa Ducret had a close battle with Cate Cushing at number four, falling 6-2, 6-4.
UTD's next match will be an exhibition at Collin College in Plano on Thursday at 3 p.m.
