Women's Soccer Record Fourth Straight Shutout

SHERMAN, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team recorded its fourth consecutive shutout to begin 2023 with a 3-0 win over Austin at the Pierce Soccer Complex Sunday night.

The Comets (4-0) scored early when freshman defender Jenna Wilkinson booted a free kick and connected with Sierra Foster who found the goal for the third time this season just 5:21 into the match.

Senior Kate Crowe made the game 2-0 in the 20th minute with an assist from Bella Granada. Crowe scored again on another Wilkinson assist with 10 seconds remaining for the final 3-0 tally.

The Comets outshot the 'Roos 23-2 overall and 12-1 on goal. UTD also held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks and led 11-9 in fouls.

UT Dallas Notes
- Sunday was the 25th meeting between UTD and AC. The Comets lead the series 15-4-6 with 10 shutouts.
- The Comets have started the season 4-0 for the sixth time in program history and joins the 2014 as the only teams to start with four consecutive shutouts.
- Crowe recorded her first multiple-goal game and moved her season total to four goals.
- Wilkinson had a pair of assists for the first time of her career.
- Granada's assist was the second of her career.
- Foster's goal was the third this season and 15th of her career. She also has five career game-winners.
- Keeper Jade Press had one save for her fourth shutout of the year and seventh of her last eight games dating back to 2022.
- Wilkinson, Peyton Guidry and Maddie Meyer each played all 90 minutes to anchor the shutout performance.

Austin Notes
- Miranda Countryman took the only shot on goal for the 'Roos.
- Brittany Hutton also had a shot.
- Kenedie Lane stopped two shots in the first half while Amanda Zyla had seven saves in the second period.

The Comets will play at home for the first time at 6 p.m. Friday against Hendrix.
