SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team finished the Trinity National Invitational with 25-12, 29-27, 25-20 loss to host #2 Trinity (Texas) at the Bell Center Saturday afternoon.
After the Tigers (3-0) took the first set, both teams battled back-and-forth with 13 ties and six lead changes in the second. The Comets (0-3) served for the set four times, but TU escaped each time and finally took the frame 29-27.
For the match, UTD hit .076 on 31 kills, four aces, eight blocks and 59 digs. Trinity hit .217 with 39 kills, 10 aces, seven blocks and 56 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior libero
Rachel Baxter led all players with 17 digs.

Erin Rogers had a career-high 12 digs and recorded eight kills.
- Sophomore right side
Gabi Engels also had eight kills and posted three blocks.

Bailey Schievelbein added seven kills and 10 digs.
- Freshman setter
Sydney Sabin had 13 assists.

Lauren Johnson led the Comets with five blocks and
Laura See had three.

- Maddie Fate led the Tigers with four blocks.
