UTD and ETBU Battle to Scoreless Draw

MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team tied East Texas Baptist 0-0 in non-conference action at Cornish Field Friday night.

The Comets (6-0-1) extended their scoreless streak to seven games to start the season, while the Tigers (3-0-3) remain unbeaten.

ETBU outshot UTD 8-5 overall and 5-2 on goal. The Comets led in corner kick opportunities, 4-2, while the home team committed more fouls - 9-6.

The Comets had a chance pull off a late victory when junior midfielder Kaitlyn Futschik fired a shot that was stopped by Tiger keeper Addison Funk in the final 30 seconds of the game.

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets are now 22-3-3 with 16 shutouts all-time against the Tigers.
- Junior keeper Jade Press tied her season-high with five saves.
She also has 10 shutouts in her last 11 games dating back to last season.
- Peyton Guidry, Sierra Foster and Jenna Wilkinson played all 90 minutes.
- Futschik and Ashlynn Thomas each had a shot on goal.
- Foster took two shots, while Brooke Crow had the other.
- Guidry, Wilkinson, Skyler Rodrigue, Maddie Meyer, Ashleya Farrell, Rylyn Reyes and Faith Autery contributed defensively to the shutout.

East Texas Baptist Notes
- Funk finished with two saves.
- Mallory Duncan led the Tigers with two shots, one on goal.
- Olivia Gallegos, Elizabeth Wynne, Carly Wyatt and Katherine Vela each took a shot on goal.
- Makayla Baxter, Aylisse Warren and Duncan each logged 90 minutes.
