CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The UT Dallas men's basketball team had a season-low six turnovers as they defeated Ozarks 80-61 at Mabee Gymnasium Wednesday night.
With the win, the Comets (11-7, 7-2) move to just a game behind American Southwest Conference-leader Hardin-Simmons with seven games left on the schedule.
Despite the host Eagles (6-12, 1-8 ASC) shooting 60 percent (12-for-20) in the first half, the Comets led 31-21 at the break. UTD shot 51.5 percent (17-33) and hit six three-pointers in the opening period, while UO hit a trio of threes.
The Eagles shooting cooled off in the second half, but managed to trail 59-53 with 10 minutes remaining. The Comets ended the contest on an 21-8 run for the 19-point win.
For the game, UT Dallas shot 47.1 percent (33-for-70) overall, 8-for-27 from three-point range and 6-for-9 at the free throw line. They also recorded 37 rebounds, 22 assists, six turnovers and four steals.
Ozarks shot 46.3 percent (19-for-41) from the floor, 9-for-24 from outside and 14-of-22 at the line with 29 rebounds, 12 assists, 13 turnovers, four blocks and six steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior guard
Donovan Souter led all players with 24 points and buried four three-pointers.
- Center
Austin Page went 7-for-11 from the field en route to 18 points, while grabbing six rebounds.
- Junior forward
Rob Wade was 5-for-6 overall and 2-for-3 from outside for 12 points.
- Freshman
Jordan Balderaz recorded eight points and six rebounds.
- Junior guard
Luke Kiser had six points, four rebounds and seven assists. He moved into sixth place on the UTD career assists list with 278.Â
- Sophomore guard
Everett Bates hit a three-pointer.

- Josh Upke paced the Eagles with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
