AUSTIN, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team lost 80-60 to Concordia Texas in an American Southwest Conference contest at Concordia Fieldhouse Thursday night.
The visiting Comets (6-6, 2-2 ASC) and host Tornados (5-8, 2-3 ASC) were tied 15-15 at the 11:45 mark of the first period, but Concordia outscored UTD 21-15 the rest of half to take a 36-30 advantage into the break.
The Tornados outscored the Comets 44-30 in the second half, shooting 52 percent, while UTD shot just 33.3 percent.
The Comets shot 36.8 percent (25-for-68) from the field, 4-for-23 from outside and 6-of-12 at the line with 40 rebounds, 17 assists, 19 turnovers, four blocks and five steals.
CTX shot 46.4 percent (26-for-56) overall, 9-of-20 from three-point range and 19-of-27 from the free throw line to go with 40 rebounds, 17 assists, 16 turnovers, five blocks and 13 assists.
UTD did manage 17 offensive rebounds and scored 38 points in the paint.
UT Dallas Notes
- Sophomore center
Austin Page led UTD in scoring for the third consecutive game, netting 17 points while going 8-for-12 from the field. He also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to go with three assists, a block and a steal.
- Freshman forward
Jordan Balderaz recorded his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 boards while also blocking two shots.
- Senior guard
Donovan Souter scored 11 points.

Nick Donnelly led the Comets with five assists.
- In his first game of the season, junior guard
Thibaut Tagnon posted eight points, four rebounds and two assists.
- Freshman
Franklin Onyeme scored five points off the bench.
Concordia Texas Notes
- Donova Stafford led the Tornados with 23 points, hitting three three-pointers.
- DJ Pigfor added 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.
- Dylen Scales netted 12 points off the bench, going 6-for-6 at the line. He also had six assists and four steals.
- Henri Marcus Vizcarrondo Jr. recorded eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
- Luis Gonzalez contributed nine points.
