RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team picked up its second shutout of the season, defeating East Texas Baptist 2-0 at UTD Soccer Field Thursday night.
The Comets' (5-5) first goal of the night came in the 12th minute. Chelsa Vilca delivered a corner kick that found
Claire O'Sullivan on a leaping header.Â
They went up 2-0 on the Tigers (4-5-1) in the 81st minute when
Kalyn Brewer stutter-stepped through a pair of defenders after a pass by
Layla Rangel.
UTD outshot ETBU 23-6 overall and 11-1 on target. The Comets led in corner kicks 7-1.
UT Dallas Notes
- O'Sullivan's goal was her first of the season and third of her career.
- Vilca leads the team with three assists.
- Brewer recorded her first career score and Rangel had her first assist as a Comet.

Jade Press earned her 20th career shutout in goal with one save. She is now in a three-way tie for fourth in shutouts in program history.
