BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team earned its fourth straight victory, defeating Howard Payne 3-1 at Citizens National Bank Field Thursday night.
After a scoreless opening period, the Comets (6-1-1) found the net 32 seconds after the break. The Yellow Jackets (0-7-3) turned the ball over off the kickoff and senior forward
Riley O'Donnell blasted a shot to the upper left corner.Â
Senior
Cole Morgan followed up with a penalty kick conversion in the 55th minute to go up 2-0. Ethan Mauldin cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 74th minute for HPU. The final goal of the night came on
Carson Burden free kick that arched over the Yellow Jacket wall.
The Comets outshot the Yellow Jackets 13-4 overall and 6-2 on goal. UTD also led 8-2 in corner kick chances.
UT Dallas Notes
- O'Donnell's goal was his team-leading sixth of the season. He also moved into a tie for fourth place on the Comet career list with 34.
- Morgan recorded his fourth goal of the year and third in the last three contests. It was his second career game-winner.
