ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team traveled to Hardin-Simmons for a 2-0 loss at the HSU Sosccer Complex Saturday night.
The host Cowgirls (9-1-2) scored just 4:28 into the game on a Taylor Garrett goal. Gabby Aviles scored in the 11th minute on an assist from Kaylee Maddox.
The Comets (4-5) were outshot 28-3 overall and 14-1 on goal. HSU led in corner kicks 9-1.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior goalkeeper
Jade Press kept the Comets in the game by tying her career-high wtih 12 saves. She also moved into third on the career saves list with 229.
- Junior forward
Chelsea Vilca took two shots, one on goal.Â
- Midfielder
Amelia Griffin also recorded a shot.
- Vilca, Griffin, Alicia Aguiñaga and
Jules Chavez played all 90 minutes.
Hardin-Simmons Notes
- Garrett's goal was her second of the year, while Aviles notched her seventh.
- Aviles recorded five shots, three on goal.
- Laruen Stengel and Caroline Burrow also had two shots on target.
- Stengel and Kalea Willis logged all 90 minutes.
