RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas sophomore libero Mario Hernandez was selected as the American Southwest Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Hernandez, from Frisco, Texas, came up with 25 digs (6.25 per set) in the Comets' four-set victory at Texas Woman's. She also had zero reception errors in UTD's season finale. Hernandez ended the season with 5.75 digs per set - the second-best average in school history.

This is Hernandez' second Player of the Week of the season and third of her career.
