RICHARDSON, Texas - For the second time this season, UT Dallas libero Avery Gray was selected as the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Gray, from Lucas, Texas, averaged 6.23 digs per set as the Comets went 2-1 at home. She came up with 27 digs and eight assists in a four-set victory over St. Mary's, then had 23 digs in Friday's four-set loss to #7 Angelo State. Gray finished the week with 31 digs and nine assists in a five-set, come-from-behind win against UT Permian Basin.

She leads the LSC and ranks 10th in NCAA Division II with 5.38 digs per set this season. Gray has recorded 20 or more digs in 10 of 15 matches.

UTD will be back in action on Friday for a 7 p.m. start against Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.
