RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team finished off the Paul Peak Classic with a 65-56 win over host Southwestern (Texas) at the Robertson Center Saturday night.
The teams were virtually even through the first half with the Comets (3-3) taking a 28-27 lead into the break. They exchanged leads four times with the Pirates (0-4) before
Matthew Soto gave the visitors the lead for good with a three-point play at the 16:24 mark.
UTD pushed the lead out to 60-50 with 3:34 left to play with Southwestern cutting the deficit down to six at 1:26. The Comets iced the game with a three-point by
Nick Donnelly and a pair of free throws from
Zach Spitzer.
UT Dallas Notes
- Donnelly scored in double digits for the fourth time in six contest, coming up with 13 points on a trio of three-pointers. He also dished out a season-high five assists.
- Sophomore forward
Jordan Balderaz was perfect from the floor, going 6-for-6 for 13 points with eight rebounds and three assists.
- Spitzer finished with a season-best nine points and four rebounds.
- Freshman
Peyton Dulin recorded eight points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Junior center
Austin Page had eight points, six boards and three blocks.

Southwestern Notes
- Gio Gutierrez led the Pirates with 16 points, five assists and three steals.
- Aiden Raccuglia came off the bench for 12 points on four threes.
- Brock Luechtefeld had eight points and eight rebounds.
