LAKELAND, Fla. - The UT Dallas men's basketball team wrapped up its trip to the Sunshine State with an 84-66 loss to Southeastern at The Furnace Tuesday afternoon.
The Comets (5-6) led 4-0 early, but the host Fire (4-7) went on a 10-0 run and led the rest of the game. SEU had a 38-25 advantage at halftime. They led by as many as 24 in the second half.
UTD shot 46 percent (23-for-50) from the field, 10-for-23 from outside and 10-for-13 at the free throw line. They also recorded 27 rebounds, 14 assists, 21 turnovers and seven steals. Southeastern shot 50.8 percent (33-for-65) overall, 7-for-23 from three-point range and 11-of-17 at the line with 38 rebounds, 11 assists, 11 turnovers and 15 steals. The Fire had a 38-24 lead in points in the paint.

- Sophomore guard
Matthew Soto led all players with 19 points, going 5-for-8 from long-range.Â

Nick Donnelly also buried five three-pointers for 16 points and pulled down a career-high seven rebounds. He also had three assists.
- Sophomore forward
Jordan Balderaz came up with eight points and five boards.
- Junior
Austin Page was 4-for-5 at the free throw line, scoring six points to go with a steal and three assists.
- Senior forward
Nnamdi Edeoga scored a career-best four points with two rebounds and an assist.
- Sophomore
AJ Carter dished out three assists.
Southeastern Notes
- Nelson Reynolds led the Fire with 15 points off the bench.
- Amir Brikat had 14 points, five rebounds and five steals.
- Nathan Mikkelson scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
- Ahmad Johnson added 10 points and seven boards.
- Derek Murphy was also in double-digits with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.
