RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball 2023-24 campaign came to and end Tuesday night with a 64-60 loss to Ozarks in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets (20-6), who entered the tournament as the third seed, and the sixth-seeded Eagles (10-16) were virtually even in the first half. The squads exchanged the lead multiple times with neither team leading by more than four points. Ozarks took a 25-24 advantage into the break.
UTD outscored the visitors from Arkansas 24-16 in the third quarter, shooting 64 percent (9-for-14) and taking a 48-41 lead into the final period. With the Comets up 53-45, the Eagles ended the contest on a 19-7 run. A pair of free throws from Haeven Hayden with 52 seconds remaining gave UO the lead for good.
UTD shot 36.7 percent (22-for-60) overall, 2-for-13 from three-point range and 14-for-16 from the free throw line. They also had 37 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers, two blocks and five steals.
Ozarks shot 36.2 percent (21-for-58) from the field, 3-for-16 from three-point range and 19-for-26 at the line with 44 boards, 16 assists, 11 turnovers, eight blocks and four steals.

Joe Shotland now has a 39-16 record in his two seasons at the helm.
- Sophomore guard
Amanda Crowninshield scored a career-high 22 points to go with five rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot.
- Forward
Alex Bowman also had 22 points with nine rebounds.
- Junior guard
Cierra Trigg recorded 12 points, seven boards, three assists, a block and a steal.

Trystan Clark added four points, two assists and a pair of steals.

Kyra Samuels pulled down six rebounds.

Blythe Williams appeared in her final game as a Comet.
Ozarks Note
- Amanda Turpin passed the career 1,000-point mark with 17 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
- Noami Smith also had a double-double of 17 points and 10 boards to go with two blocks and five assists.
- Abby Beene scored 12 points with five rebounds off the bench.
- Destini Powell recorded six points, six rebounds and four assists.
- Hayden finished with 11 points.
- The Eagles will face second-seeded Mary Hardin-Baylor in the tournament semifinals in Abilene, Texas Friday.
