ABILENE, Texas - The #38 UT Dallas women's tennis team swept McMurry 9-0 at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center Sunday afternoon.
The Comets (3-3) ran through doubles easily, highlighted by junior tandem of
Elyssa Ducret and
Megan Zeng winning 8-1 at number two against the War Hawks (5-8).
None of the UTD singles players dropped more than five games to McMurry. Senior
Rebecca Jacksond defeated Bridgette Fly 6-0, 6-3 at number one and freshman
Riya Matharoo won 6-2, 6-0 against Jenna Vincent at the second spot.
Reika Nagai defeated Kartiza Bencomo 6-1, 6-2 in the third spot and
Saumya Vedula was a 6-0, 6-1 victor at number four against McKenzie Carroll. Zeng and Ducret also won at five and six, respectively.
UT Dallas Notes
- Jackson moved into second on UTD's career doubles wins list with 40 and tied for fifth in singles with her 33rd.
- Vedula tied for third with her 39th doubles win and tied for seventh with her 29th singles victory.
- Ducret is now tied for eighth all-time with 29 career doubles wins.
- Nagai improved to 4-1 on the season.
