RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team lost a close match to NCAA Division II opponent Missouri-St. Louis 4-3 at the UTD Tennis Courts Monday afternoon.

The visiting Tritons (6-4) took the doubles point by winning all three battles. The Comets' (3-4) top tandem of Rebecca Jackson and Saumya Vedula had the closest decision, falling 6-4 to Anna Domingo and Maja Lietzau.

The two squads split the singles matchups. Freshman Riya Matharoo took down Lietzau 6-4, 6-3 at number two and junior Elyssa Ducret won 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 against Anna Favaron at number five. Freshman Elsha Valluru earned her first singles victory of the season, defeating Lauren Sweeney 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in the sixth spot.

UTD will travel to Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. for an American Southwest Conference match on Friday at 11 a.m.
