Jed De Luna earned a number six singles victory over Liam Sunkel as the UT Dallas men's tennis team lost to SMU 6-1 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex Sunday evening.
With the 6-2, 6-2 win, De Luna moved into third place by himself on the Comets' (6-3) career singles victories list.
The host Mustangs (16-7), who are ranked #44 in Division I, took the doubles point by winning all three matches. They went on to take the other five singles battles, although
Benjamin Dubois pushed John Zisette to a third-set tiebreaker, falling 6-2, 6-7, 10-4.
UTD will travel to Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas for a 3 p.m. match on Saturday.
