RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team picked up its fifth victory in a row, winning a close 72-69 battle against #21 Mary Hardin-Baylor at the UTD Activity Center Thursday night.
Freshman
Peyton Dulin anchored the Comets' (10-6) offense, coming up with a season-best 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting while sinking five three-pointers.
The home team jumped out to an 18-8 lead over the first seven minutes of the game, but the Cru (11-4) kept the game close and trailed just 34-30 going into the break.
UTD had its biggest of the game at 53-42 with 12:33 remaining in the game before UMHB went on a 23-12 run to tie the contest at 65-65 with 3:29 to play.

Austin Page scored in the pain on assist from
Zach Spitzer to give the Comets the lead for good with 28 seconds left. The Cru failed to score on the next possession and
Jordan Balderaz went 1-of-2 at the line with 1.1 seconds left to ice the three-point victory.
UTD shot 47.3 percent (26-for-55) from the field, 11-of-28 from outside and 9-of-17 at the line. They also had 37 rebounds, 22 assists, 18 turnovers, four blocks and four steals.
UMHB shot 40 percent (26-of-65) overall, 4-for-12 from three-point range and 13-of-18 in free throws to go with 39 boards, 20 assists, 10 turnovers, two blocks and 11 steals. The four three-pointers was tied for the fewest allowed by the Comets this season.
UT Dallas Notes
- Dulin also recorded five rebounds, three assists, a blocked shot and a steal. He has scored in double-digits 11 times this season.
- Senior guard
Nick Donnelly scored 16 points, hitting a trio of threes, with four rebounds and two assists.
- Page finished with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
- Sophomore guard
Matthew Soto added eight points off the bench.
- Balderaz led the Comets with nine rebounds with a block and five points.
- Spitzer had four points, seven rebounds and three assists.
- Sophomore forward
AJ Carter had a career-high four assists.
Mary Hardin-Baylor Notes
- Guard Eli Beard led the Cru with 16 points and six assists. He was 6-for-6 at the line.
- Jerry Day had 13 points and seven rebounds, making three three-pointers.
- Josh Goings recorded 10 points, three assists and two steals.
- Engels finished with eight points and four steals.
