RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team dropped a 72-69 decision to LeTourneau at the UTD Activity Center Thursday evening, ending a six-game winning streak dating back to December 21.
The Comets (11-7) shot 52 percent (13-for-25) in the first period and led 35-29 at halftime. They led by 49-37 at the 14:35 mark of the second half before the YellowJackets (14-4) mounted a 13-0 run over the next 3:36 to take a 50-49 lead.
The teams exchanged the lead six times and were tied on four occasions during the next eight minutes and were knotted at 62-62 with 2:42 to play. A three-pointer from Connor Miller put LeTourneau up for good with 1:57 left. A pair of free throws from senior guard
Nick Donnelly made the 70-69 at 13.7 seconds, but Deonte Jackson was fouled and made two free throws of his own to go up by three. The Comets' three-point attempt the buzzer was just off the mark, allowing the YellowJackets to escape with a three-point victory.
UTD shot 40.7 percent (24-for-59) from the field, 6-for-21 from outside and 15-of-18 at the free throw line. They also recorded 47 rebounds, 17 assists, 20 turnovers, three steals and a season-best eight blocks.
LETU shot 37.3 percent (25-of-67) for the game, 10-of-29 from three-point territory and 12-of-15 at the stripe with 30 rebounds, 18 assists, eight turnovers, three blocks and 12 steals.

- Donnelly paced the Comets with 12 points and three assists.

Austin Page was just shy of a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

Jordan Balderaz netted 10 points, six rebounds and a career-high three blocks.

Bryce Potts added six points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Zach Spitzer recorded five points, five rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot.

Matthew Soto came up with five points and three assists.

Rob Wade posted five points, three boards and two blocks.
LeTourneau Notes
- Jackson led all players with 25 points and blocked two shots. He was 10-for-12 at the free throw line.
- Miller finished with 14 points, including four three-pointers.
- Caedmon Liebengood recorded 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.
- Teigan Edwards had seven points, seven assists and eight rebounds.
- Walker Blaine came up with six points, five assists and three steals.
