RICHARDSON, Texas - For the second time this season, UT Dallas redshirt freshman Callum Thompson was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Thompson, from Maumelle, Ark., anchored the Comets at center back as they went 2-0 and maintained first place in the LSC. He scored the first goal of the game on a header and played all 90 minutes in Wednesday's 3-1 home win over St. Mary's. Thompson logged all 90 minutes again in Saturday's 1-0 shutout at Sul Ross State.

UTD will travel to St. Edward's in Austin for a 7 p.m. kick-off on Wednesday.
