COMMERCE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team began its 2025–26 season with a 93–75 exhibition loss to NCAA Division I foe East Texas A&M on Wednesday night at the Field House.
Sophomore guard Jaden Jefferson led the Comets with 18 points and eight rebounds, while freshman Hudson Goellner finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Will Warren added nine points off the bench, and Peyton Dulin contributed eight points and three steals.
UT Dallas shot 50 percent (27-for-54) from the field and made eight three-pointers. The Comets collected 35 rebounds, including 13 on the offensive end, and recorded 15 assists. The bench provided 30 points of support.
Vinny Sigona led the Lions with 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range. Ronnie Harrison scored 16 points, and London Fields added 11. ETAMU shot 49 percent (33-for-68) overall and made 11 three-pointers while totaling 27 assists and 15 steals.
UTD trailed 44–36 at halftime and stayed within range through most of the second half before East Texas A&M extended its lead late.
The Comets will open the regular season on Friday, November 14 at Westminster (Utah) in Salt Lake City.
