UTD Runs into Hot-Shooting Southern Arkansas

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team lost to Southern Arkansas 100-79 at the Activity Center Friday night.

The visiting Muleriders (3-2) were red-hot, shooting 53.7 percent (36-for-67) overall, 8-of-16 from three-point range and 20-of-22 at the line. They also only recorded 10 turnovers, including just one in the first half.

The Comets (0-6) opened the game with a 19-13 lead over the first eight minutes. SAU outscored UTD 43-13 the rest of the half to take control of the game.

The Comets shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60) from the field, 7-of-25 from three-point territory and 14-of-18 at the line with 31 rebounds, 18 assists, 17 turnovers, seven blocks and five steals.

The Muleriders also posted 35 boards, 26 assists, one blocked shot and eight steals.

UT Dallas Performances
- Sophomore guard Peyton Dulin recorded 15 points, three steals and tied his career-high of eight assists. 
- Freshman center Hudson Goellner had 15 points, four rebounds and a pair of blocks.
- Freshman Jacob Smithey tied his season-best of 14 points with five rebounds and two blocked shots.
- Jordan Balderaz recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Southern Arkansas Performances
- Greg Moore Jr. recorded 20 points, six assists and three steals.
- Roderick Williams Jr. posted 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting.
- Chase Jenkins added 14 points off the bench.
- Jair Horton had 14 points, four assists and seven boards.
