RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas redshirt freshman defender
Callum Thompson was selected as the Lone Star Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Thompson, from Maumelle, Ark,, scored both game-winning goals and played all 180 minutes as UT Dallas recorded a pair of road shutouts. He found the net in the 18th minute on a backwards, floating header off a free kick in Thursday's 1-0 win at West Texas A&M. Thompson struck again early with a 14th-minute score in Saturday's 2-0 blanking at Lubbock Christian. His defensive efforts help limit the Buffaloes to four shots on goal and the Chaparrals to none.
The Comets will host Ouachita Baptist at home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
