RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team rang in 2026 with a 95-66 victory over Dallas Christian at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (2-10) led the entire game, jumping out to a 14-0 lead over the first 3:11. They built up a 25-2 advantage over the Crusaders (4-10) before leading 50-22 at the break. UTD led by as many as 39 points in the second half.
The Comets shot 44.8 percent (39-for-67) overall, 10-of-37 from three-point range, and 7-of-14 from the free throw line. They also grabbed 62 rebounds - the second most in school history - to go with 29 assists, 11 turnovers, five blocked shots and eight steals.
DCC shot 34.7 percent (26-of-75) from the field, 3-of-23 from outside and 11-of-19 at the line with 43 boards, 18 assists, 15 turnovers, nine blocks and eight steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Junior forward
Jordan Balderaz led the Comets with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting with eight rebounds and four assists.
- Sophomore guard
Jaden Jefferson scored 18 points with three assists, two blocks and a pair of steals. He was 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Kris White posted 10 points and a pair of steals.
- Freshman
Jacob Smithey had 10 points, six rebounds and two steals off the bench.
- Freshman center Hudson Geollner added nine points and two steals.
- Junior forward
Zach Spitzer recorded a career-best 14 rebounds and dished out three assists.
- Sophomore
Bryce Potts went 4-for-6 from the field for eight points.

Peyton Dulin posted seven assists, six rebounds and five points.
Dallas Christian Performances
- Dion Grinsold led the Crusaders with 10 points, nine rebounds, seven blocks and two steals.
- Carlas Canady recorded eight points, four rebounds and four assists.
- Seth Mays recorded seven points and nine rebounds.
