RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team posted its biggest win of the season Thursday night at the Activity Center, defeating Texas A&M-Kingsville 96-58 in Lone Star Conference Action.
In the win, the Comets (3-10, 2-3 LSC) broke the school record with 13 blocked shots, besting the old mark of 11 set in 2013 and 2025. UTD also had a season-high 12 steals and held the Javelinas (7-7, 4-2 LSC) to 28.8 percent (19-of-66) shooting.
The Comets jumped out to a 10-0 lead, establishing the tone of the game early. They took a 39-21 lead into halftime. UTD outscored TAMUK 57-37 in the second half for the 38-point win.
The Comets shot 41.1 percent (30-of-73) from the floor, 12-of-32 from outside and made a season-high 24 free throws on 29 attempts. They also had 55 rebounds, 24 assists and 14 turnovers. UTD has averaged 58.5 rebounds over the last two games.
The Javelinas were 5-of-16 from three-point territory and 15-of-22 at the line with 40 boards, 12 assists, 18 turnovers, seven blocks and six steals.

- Junior guard
Matthew Soto scored 17 points off the bench and dished out four assists.
- Freshman center
Hudson Goellner had 13 points and a season-best 14 rebounds for his third double-double of the year. He also blocked two shots.
- Guard
Kris White scored 12 points with six rebounds and two blocks.
- Freshman
Jacob Smithey recorded 11 points and five rebounds.
- Sophomore guard
Jaden Jefferson had 10 points, five assists and a pair of steals.
- Junior forward
Zach Spitzer posted eight points, five rebounds and four blocked shots.
- Senior guard
Everett Bates recorded seven points, four rebounds and two steals in eight minutes of action.
Texas A&M-Kingsville Performances
- Jamir Turner came off the bench for 11 points and seven rebounds.
- Bryson Goldsmith also scored 11 points.
- Nate Garcia added nine points and four rebounds.
- Bryce Smith recorded seven points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
