Comets Struck by Rattlers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team suffered an 81-63 loss to St. Mary's in Lone Star Conference action at Bill Greehey Arena Saturday.

The Rattlers (14-5, 7-4 LSC) were red hot in the first half, shooting 63 percent (17-of-27), and taking a 41-31 advantage into halftime. They went on to lead by 21 late in the second half.

The Comets (5-14, 4-7 LSC) were limited to a season-low eight free throw attempts and 27 rebounds. They were one off a season-high with 13 three-pointers made on 34 attempts. 

For the game, UTD shot 41.8 percent (23-of-55) to go with 15 assists, 13 turnovers and three steals.

StMU shot 58.9 percent (33-of-56) overall, 5-of-16 from outside and 10-of-12 at the line with 32 rebounds, 14 assists, seven turnovers, four blocks and nine steals.

UT Dallas Performances
- Freshman guard Will Warren scored a season-best 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting off the bench. He was 3-for-5 from three-point range.
- Peyton Dulin recorded 11 points and five assists.
- Guard Kris White also scored 11 points.
- Junior forward Jordan Balderaz recorded 11 points as well.
- Matthew Soto had five points and four assists.

St. Mary's Performances
- Justin Britt led all players with 20 points and four steals and grabbed six rebounds.
- Eddie McPhee had 15 points, seven boards and two blocks.
- Wayne Wiggins recorded 12 points and three steals.
- Olaverr Camacho came up with 10 points and six rebounds.
- Damani Claxton had nine points and seven assists.
