RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team gave #7 Angelo State one of the hardest tests of their Lone Star Conference schedule at the UTD Activity Center Friday night. The Comets (7-7, 3-2 LSC) won the first set, but the Rambelles (16-1, 6-0 LSC) ultimately won 22-25, 25-21, 25-11, 25-23.
Tied at 16-16 in the opening set, UTD scored four of the next five points to take control. They went on to hold off ASU, ending the frame on a kill by
Scarlette Young.
The Comets led 16-15 in the second before the Rambelles won the set by going on a 10-6 run. Angelo State easily took the third set to take a 2-1 advantage.
The Teams were tied at 21-21 in the fourth, but the Rambelles scored three straight to serve for match point. The Comets held off the winning point twice before the visitors finished off the victory on a Julia Hopkins kill.
UTD hit .165 with 49 kills, two aces, 66 digs and three blocks. ASU hit . 284 on 62 kills, six aces, 82 digs and 10 blocks.
UT Dallas Notes
- Outside hitter
Jane Burkhardt paced the Comets with 15 kills, including seven n the fourth set.

Scarlette Young recorded her eighth double-double of the year, coming up with 10 kills and 21 assists to go with eight digs.
- Middle blocker
Laura See had seven kills and three total blocks, including one solo.
- Right side
Lashae Goffney hit .455 on five kills and no errors.

Abby Gentner posted a double-double of 16 assists and 13 digs.
- Libero
Avery Gray came up with 23 digs, reaching 20 or more for the ninth time this season, including the last four matches.

Sydney Sabin came up with 11 digs, the fourth time she's reached double-digits this year.

- Julia Hopkins led ASU with 19 kills and hit .368 with three blocks.
- Sydney Thornton hit .440 on 12 kills and four blocks.
- Hannah Barnhill hit .471 with nine kills and six blocks.
- Madi Parrish recorded nine kills, two aces and 16 digs.
- Gabi Ashcraft recorded a double-double of 28 assists and 16 digs.
- Allie Duitsman came up with 18 digs.
