CANYON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team suffered a 75-63 loss to West Texas A&M at the First United Bank Center Thursday night.
The Comets (6-16, 5-9 Lone Star Conference) committed a season-high 26 turnovers, including 17 in the first half. The Buffaloes (17-9, 9-7 LSC) outscored the visitors 29-4 in points off turnovers.
The first ten minutes of the contest were close, with the squads exchanging leads five times. WT took control with a 17-3 run before taking a 38-30 advantage into halftime.
UTD cut down the deficit to six with 8:26 left, but WT hung on for the 12-point victory.
The Comets shot 42 percent (21-of-50) from the floor, 8-of-23 from three-point range and 13-of-17 at the free throw line with 47 rebounds, 10 assists, three blocks and four steals.
The Buffs shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) overall, 9-of-26 from outside and 14-of-17 at the line with 24 rebounds, 14 assists, seven turnovers, three blocks and 14 steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- The 23-rebound margin was the most for the Comets this season.
- Freshman center
Hudson Goellner led UTD with 17 points and posted five rebounds and a block.
- Sophomore guard
Peyton Dulin recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. It was his second career double-double.

Matthew Soto hit a trio of three-pointers en route to 11 points.
- Junior
Jordan Balderaz had six points and five rebounds.

Bryce Potts scored seven points off the bench.
- Guard
Kris White grabbed a season-best seven rebounds.
West Texas A&M Performances
- Brock Mishak led all players with 20 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
- Fontaine Williams scored 19 points.
- Zach Brown added 15 points, four boards and a pair of steals.
- Jailyn Sledge came up with four steals and five rebounds.
