RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team battled Delta State to the end in a 4-2 loss at the UTD Tennis Courts Thursday evening.
Starting with singles, the Comets (0-3) won two of the five completed matches against the Lady Statesmen (2-0).Â
Freshman
Presley Churchman moved to 2-0 on the year at number two with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Trinity Ly. Freshman
Sheryl Gerald also earned a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) victory against Lena Kuehn at number five.Â
The remaining matches were decided by a thin margin, with DSU's Amelia Ciesielczyk defeating
Katia Robinson 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the top duel.
The Lady Statesmen secured the match by taking two of the three doubles. Robinson and
Namrata Makhija defeated Ciesielczyk and Ly 6-2 to improve to 2-1 on the year at number one.
UTD will take on Northeastern State at home on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
