RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team lost to #2 Texas Woman's 71-47 in Lone Star Conference play at the Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
After the game, the Comets (10-14, 7-10) honored

Anna Yellen as part of their senior day celebration.
The visiting Pioneers (24-1, 18-0 LSC) led 17-9 after the first quarter and 37-26 at halftime. They expanded the lead to as many as 29 in the second half.
UTD was held to 25 percent shooting (15-of-60) overall, 2-of-19 from three-point range and 15-of-16 at the line. They also recorded 38 rebounds, five assists, 18 turnovers, three blocked shots and 10 steals.
TWU, winners of 24 consecutive games, shot 49.1 percent (28-of-57) from the field, 9-of-18 from outside and 6-for-7 at the free throw line with 36 rebounds, 19 assists, 17 turnovers, five blocked shots and seven steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Junior guard
Umi Otsuka led the Comets with 12 points and three steals.
- Freshman
Kinley Mears recorded nine points, five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
- Forward
Danielle Oyakhire posted nine points and seven boards.
- Self had four points, three rebounds, an assist, one block and one steal.
- Pedigo added three points, four boards, a block and a steal.
- Busby also had three steals.
- Yellen came down with seven rebounds.
Texas Woman's Performances
- Six Pioneers scored in double figures.
- Jada Celsur led the team with 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
- Madi Lumsden had 12 points and two assists.
- Gabby Elliott posted 11 points, three blocks and seven rebounds.
- Jaylee Moss scored 11 points off the bench.
- Avery McConnell and Julie Kasonga each scored 10 points.
- Kayla Glover had four assists and seven rebounds.
