RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team defeated Sul Ross State 82-67 at the UTD Activity Center in Lone Star Conference play Tuesday night. The win was the second of the season for the Comets (7-19, 6-12 LSC) over the Lobos (4-20, 2-16 LSC).
UTD led 22-10 through the first eight minutes of the game. SRSUÂ battled back to take a 38-37 lead at halftime
The Comets opened the second period on a 24-6 run to take control of the game. They went on to lead by as many as 20 and held on to a double-digit advantage for the rest of the game.Â
UTD shot 47.8 percent (33-of-69) from the field, 10-of-31 from three-point range and 6-of-9 at the line with 41 rebounds, 27 assists, 13 turnovers, five blocked shots and six steals.Â
SRSUÂ shot 42.1 percent (24-of-57) overall, 5-of-14 from outside and 14-of-23 from the free throw line with 30 rebounds, 15 assists, 12 turnovers, five blocks and 10 steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Junior forward
Jordan Balderaz posted a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds with four assists, a block and two steals.
- Guard
Matthew Soto went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc for 14 points and five assists.
- Freshman guard
Will Warren had 10 points and three assists.
- Center
Hudson Goellner recorded nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Zach Spitzer recorded seven points, five boards, three assists and two blocks.
- Sophomore guard
Peyton Dulin had eight points and six assists off the bench.

Bryce Potts also had eight points.
Sul Ross State Performances
- Antwonne Holmes led the Lobos with 19 points and played all 40 minutes. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals.
- Julie Barclay recorded 10 points and six rebounds.
- Camren Roper had nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.
