ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's team lost to Division I foe UT Arlington 4-1 at the UTA Tennis Center Saturday. 

The Comets (0-2) started the match by taking the doubles point. Sophomore Katia Robinson and freshman Namrata Makhija defeated Flora Farkaslaki and Elizave Mladentseva 7-6 at the top spot. The number two freshman tandem of Presley Churchman and Sheryl Gerlad topped Vanja Cado and Sofia Selle 6-3.

The Mavericks (1-3) took the four completed singles matches. Selle defeated junior Reika Nagai 6-1, 7-5 at number three. Natalia Gonzalez won at number five 6-3, 6-3 against Gerald.

At the time of the decision, Makhija had won the first set from Farkaslaki at four and Churchman had split sets with Mladentseva at two.

UTD will play Delta State at home at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 12.
