RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team picked up its second consecutive home victory, defeating Henderson State 4-0 at the UTD Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Comets (3-6) won the doubles point with victories at two and three. Juniors
Reika Nagai and
Elsha Valluru improved to 4-2 on the year with a 6-2 defeat of Lainey Mungle and Lily Winter at number three. The second-flight freshmen tandem of
Presley Churchman and
Sheryl Gerald defeated Jenna Bohnert and Kristina Kozlova for their fifth straight win.
Playing to clinch, the Reddies (6-7) lost at four, five and six singles.
Kendall Curley earned a win at number six by retirement. Freshman
Namrata Makhija won over Mungle 6-1, 6-2 at five. Gerald won her seventh straight duel with a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Winter at four.
UTD will open Lone Star Conference play on Friday at 2 p.m. with a home match against Lubbock Christian.
