RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team commenced its Lone Star Conference schedule with a 6-1 loss to Lubbock Christian at the UTD Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Chaps (9-3, 1-1 LSC) took the doubles point by winning two of the three duels. The Comets' (3-7, 0-1 LSC) number two team of Katia Robinson and Namrata Makhija won over Oshini Herath and Alexandra Luders 6-3.

In singles, freshman Presley Churchman won over Herath in the third spot for UTD's only point. She won 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Makhija took Sofia Valero Trevin to a third-set tiebreaker in the fifth spot before falling 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.

The Comets will host UT Permian Basin on Saturday at noon in conference play.
