SAN ANGELO, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team lost to #25 Angelo State 7-0 at the ASU Tennis Complex Sunday afternoon.
The host Rambelles (20-1, 7-1 Lone Star Conference) won all three doubles match-ups against the Comets (6-11, 3-5 LSC). The number one team of #19 Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene defeated freshmen
Presley Churchman and
Sheryl Gerald 6-1. Sasa Felixova and Vasilis Kupriianova won over
Namrata Makhija and
Katia Robinson 6-4 in the second spot.
ASU went on to win all six singles duels in straight sets. Rene, who is ranked 29th in the nation, defeated Robinson 6-0, 6-4 at one. In the second spot, #24 Kupriianova topped
Reika Nagai 6-3, 6-1.
UTD will host #27 UT Tyler at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the UTD Tennis Courts.
