ODESSA, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team was swept by St. Edward's 25-19, 25-16, 25-19 to finish up the LSC Challenge at the Falcon Dome Friday night.
The Hilltoppers (5-4) were nearly unstoppable offensively, hitting .461, while the Comets (4-5) hit just .153.Ā
SEU hit .560 on 16 kills in the opening set, while UTD hit .290 on 14 kills. A block by
Savannah Welch and
Scarlette Young moved the Comets' deficit to 17-19. The Hilltoppers finished off the frame with a 6-2 run.
St. Edward's easily took set two. UT Dallas trailed 19-18 in the third before the match was finished on a 6-1 rally.
The Comets finished with 30 kills, four aces, 23 digs and two blocks. The Hilltoppers had 43 kills, eight aces, 34 digs and four blocks.
UT Dallas Notes
- Outside hitter
Jane Burkhardt led UTD with seven kills.
- Young had six kills, 10 assists, three aces and four digs.
- Middle blocker
Laura See recorded five kills. She is now tied for 10th in program history by playing in 80 consecutive matches in her career.

Savannah Welch also had five kills and hit .556, to go with a pair of blocks. She leads the Comets with 28 total blocks this season.
- Setter
Abby Gentner posted 13 assists and four digs. She moved into the career top 10 with 832 assists.
St. Edward's Notes
- Kara Wynn hit .667 on 14 kills.
- Kelli Fording posted 10 kills.
- Kaylen Lembcke added eight kills and three blocks.
